Tough Call

12:41

Writing in English is not as easy as it sounds, mostly because, although I am an English teacher, I don’t have anyone with whom to practice at an advanced level. And I also don’t have money for a private tutor, so here I am, writing about my life to the world to know what happens in Brazil without the progressive lens of the press (by the way, we speak Portuguese, not Spanish).

It’s good for me, to keep my English sharp, and for you to know what happens to a failed artist who turned out to be a full-time teacher, something I really love doing (I’m still creating those digital zines, but it will take years to start earning some money with them). And I know this is a good road to run since everybody loves to see what happens in the life of a person they have no contact with (here in Brazil, Big Brother is on its 25th edition, not that I watch it).

For today I left my house under this mad sun to pay some (late) bills, dried the dishes I washed yesterday, I am preparing myself to clean the stove (my father always leaves it as disgusting as it can be) and to write some reviews for Amazon in the hope of catching someone’s attention, which can lead to new students (fingers crossed).

The good thing about this hot-as-hell-Tuesday is that my German lessons are done. I did one exercise on Duolingo, watched a video from the channel tabea art, with subtitles, and one more from the cooking channel Brot selber machen (too bad that they abandoned it, the videos are quite fun).

It’s already 12:30 and not much has been done except for the dandelion syrup I’m going to eat at lunch with chopped apple and peanuts.
