To Germany, With Love
08:07I grew up hearing that everything “imported” was better than the things we had in Brazil. Pens, paper, paints, skincare products, make-up, food, music… You name it, and anyone would say the international product had better quality. Today I understand that Brazilians were taught to believe that nothing good could come from this land, which is not true at all! - this is just how things are here, though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yesterday I was buying beauty products on Amazon. The thought of adding a shampoo from L'Oréal to my cart crossed my mind, because they have such good shampoos, but then I remembered I have a resolution of only using national products, and L'Oréal is a French company, so…
L'Oréal was out of my cart, in the end, making room for Granado, a Brazilian brand created in 1870, that started as an apothecary in Rio de Janeiro and today is one of the most important brands of Brazil. Although I must say I also brought a tin of Nivea moisturizer - Germany will forever have a special place in my heart, even though now I don’t have anyone to talk about German things with anymore.
