Drama Queen
12:05After three days of the worst weather, we now have some peace to try to survive the Brazilian summer. The sky is cloudy most of the day, and although it’s still warm, the short heatwave gave its goodbye and now must be tormenting another area of Brazil - which honestly I don’t wanna know where it is.
And even though I’m happy the rain is back in São Paulo, I’m also a little worried about my online purchases. See, the shipping companies (hope this is the right term) and their employees completely lost the ability to deliver the products in a non-absurd way. I don’t know if they don’t have enough staff to handle all the online orders, or if the employees now have to deliver much more boxes to earn a just payment - things here have gone insane.
Anyway, the other day, when I went to the bakery shop, I saw a delivery guy from Amazon distributing a lot of packets on the sidewalk, sorting out which ones he would deliver to which building (my street has a lot of buildings). And while he went to deliver a bunch of packages to a building, he left the other amount of packages by itself on the sidewalk, and it was fucking raining!
I’m sure many books got wet because they don’t have any protection besides a thin plastic, and add to this the danger of someone stealing one of the packages because there was no one watching. To this day I’m scared to buy anything online when it’s raining in São Paulo - checking the weather app has becoming mandatory before any online purchase.
